Lake Conroe Association President’s Update

Wrapping up 2011, it’s been a year unlike any other in Lake Conroe’s 37-year history and record breaking for Montgomery County and most of the State of Texas. We were parched by record temperatures for most of our Summer and Fall, and the state-wide drought created problems not seen since the 1950’s. Our [...]

Opposition to the SJRA Water Treatment Plan Floats Around Montgomery County

This is not about the lake level alone, as it has always been in jeopardy due to the City of Houston’s water rights. The primary concern is that the “NON ELECTED” boards of the SJRA and the LSGWD herded the citizenry of Montgomery County into making long term decisions with little knowledge of the alternatives. [...]

Lake Conroe Bass Classic is Started

Sitting at my desk at home on Lake Conroe I have noticed bass boats in the dozens speeding by on their way to be winners! The winds are up and temperatures are down as conditions for the sport fishermen have dramatically changed since yesterday.

Floating docks at Waterpoint Marina on Lake Conroe 1

This marina off Hwy 105 on Lake Conroe was opened over a year ago and management is working now to complete the docks.  They are installing a ”floating system” that will tie the end of the new main dock into a very long breakwater. The approximate 1200 foot long breakwater floats [...]

LCA PRESIDENT’S UPDATE for July 11, 2011

We’re hoping our LCA Members are enjoying 2011 and dealing with the multitude of extreme weather conditions being thrown at us by Mother Nature.  We’ve seen repeated record temperatures throughout June and an extended drought that has browned our grasses, damaged our trees and dropped our lake level more than three (3) feet.  Would you [...]

Lake Conroe Dam will not have any Official Fireworks this Year: Ban on Aerial Displays in Place

There are no fireworks at the Lake Conroe Dam this year for 2011. Walden and Bentwater have previously cancelled their fireworks display. The Conroe – Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce never scheduled one and it was falsely reported and blogged on the Internet on several unofficial sites like Activerain. The last time the Conroe [...]

Lake Conroe Communities Network and Texas A&M Researchers Hold Public Forum

The meeting was about the details of an Impact Study to be performed by Texas A&M University. It was not about  the San Jacinto River Athority, SJRA Plan to reduce the draw of ground water from the aquifer. It was about predicting the lake level results based on historical data. The facts show that we [...]
